Preparation:

Take properly sliced and clean fish pieces, marinate them with 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp turmeric powder and leave them for 10- 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, take some mustard oil in a pan/wok; then fry those marinated fish pieces till they turn light brown and keep them aside

Next, take some mustard oil in a pan/ wok; heat the oil and then put 1 tsp black Jeera seeds to it.

Once it sizzles, add sliced onions, and chopped chillies and saute them for 5 minutes

After that add the mustard paste into the pan add 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp chilli powder and some sugar;  then after 5 minutes add the fried fish pieces along with some water and allow it to cook for next 15 minutes to make a thick gravy.

Once prepared, serve your Soshe Ilish fish with gravy hot with rice.
